From then on I was able to discuss all the details with the charming and resolute Ms. Mann, surrounded by a pack of 10 dogs of different sizes and temperaments. My dog Liesl, who was only 12 weeks old at the time, was part of the party at the beginning, playing with the delicate dog Sofie and, as the rest of the pack became increasingly pushy, she managed to get to safety in her dog box, which was often already manned by Candy, a friendly bull terrier. According to Ms. Mann's statement, the muscular but no less graceful Candy loves dog crates and I had to force myself to politely but firmly compliment her out before Liesl bravely ventured back in.
Since my time capacity as a single parent was limited at the time, but the building site was only 20 minutes away from where I lived, I only agreed with the husbands that the tree house should be finished by around the end of the year. Sometimes there were several days or weeks between assembly dates, which gave Mannometer the longest construction time of all my previous projects. On the 5 x 5 meter platform we built a simple hut made of larch boards at a height of 5 meters with a simple, corrugated iron roof, 2 windows and a man-high glass sauna door. On a small intermediate platform in a yew bush, you move from a ladder to the next higher one, guided by a handrail.
