On Monday, a friend of the client phoned with an enquiry in English. On the following Friday, an appointment was made to inspect a solitary spruce, which, as if mistakenly forgotten, stands at the edge of a strictly fenced lawn in front of a new building not far from the Old Danube and shows traces of a former tree house at a height of about 3 metres, which have healed well. The top must have been cut years ago to prevent it from growing too tall. The lush green foliage speaks in favour of a good location and high vitality, which means that there is no obstacle to building a tree house.
Fortunately, my relationship with my timber dealer is so good that I can help myself to his wood store at the weekend.
As I want to surprise nine-year-old Sara with a tree house when she returns from her summer holidays, I hurry up with the platform, which is ready in a few days.
The 2 x 1.6 metre hut is then prepared in my workshop, delivered disassembled and assembled on the platform within a sunny day with two friends, with lots of fun and a few curses. After that, only the railings need to be completed.
The hut is made of 3-ply boards varnished green to match the spruce green colour. Only the restored vintage windows are painted blue and white as a colour accent. An all-glass sauna door serves as the entrance door. The roof cladding was made from solid larch boards to match the platform.
Have fun, Sara!
